Based on the 2016 novel by Robert Harris, Conclave is a period drama set at the Vatican. Following the unexpected death of a beloved Pope, Cardinal Lawrence is tasked with running one the most secretive and ancient rituals in the Catholic Church – selecting the new pope. Once the cardinals from around the world have arrived and are locked together in the Vatican halls, Lawrence begins to uncover a trail of secrets that could shake the very foundations of the Church. The film won an Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay. Starring Ralph Fiennes, Stanley Tucci, John Lithgow, and Isabella Rossellini.
