DNA Learning Center presents: Fun with DNA for youth ages 10-12 yrs
(Material kits will need to be picked up form Midland beginning 1/27)
Tuesday’s February 2, 9, 23rd at 4pm
2/2: Baggie Cell Model – Cells are the building blocks of life! Join us to explore why cells have different shapes, how they function like microscopic factories, and to build a 3-D model of an animal cell.
2/9: DNA Models – We see the double helix structure of DNA all the time, from movies to the news! Join us to build a 3-D model of DNA, and learn about how the structure of this very important molecule helps it to do its job!
2/23: DNA Extraction – Although DNA molecules are very small, they can be viewed without a microscope! Join us to learn how household materials can be used to extract visible DNA from wheat germ and other common foods right in the kitchen!
