Grand Opening of Ivy Coffee at Sage & Madison/Book Signing

Description:

Saturday, May 15 will witness the grand opening of Sag Harbor’s only garden oasis!
Sage and Madison’s “Ivy Coffee” will serve freshly brewed SEY Coffee, and iced coffee, from the Brooklyn micro roastery.
Patrons can enter the brick-paved courtyard on the west side of the Sage and Madison boutique, order their beverages, including iced tea, lemonade, and sparkling water—and packaged sweet treats—through a tiny window, and take a seat in the jewel of a patio garden. Ahhh.

From noon to 4 p.m. EST on May 15, Sag Harbor author Stacy Dermont will sign copies of "The Hamptons Kitchen" (Norton), which she co-wrote with Bridgehampton’s Hillary Davis, in Sage and Madison’s garden.
“Stacy came in shortly after we opened the shop,” says owner Chris Coffee. “She brought us handmade gifts all winter, and flowers from her nearby garden all spring—so we’re delighted to kick off our new service with her beautiful book! It feels like coming home.”

The Sage and Madison boutique is located at 31 Madison Street. It occupies a former workshop in the 18th century complex of buildings at the corner of Sag Harbor’s historic Sage and Madison Streets. Coffee often refers to the high-end boutique as “a little barn!” It opened to the public in October of 2020, because “in a global pandemic people needed comfort and a transporting atmosphere more than ever,” says Coffee. It offered gifts including cashmere accessories, chocolates, and Mariage Frères tea. With an emphasis on living the good life outdoors, its inventory has expanded to include a wide range of doggie goods; garden supplies; and picnicking necessities, including pies and picnic baskets.

After extensive redecoration, Coffee has opened the property’s main house as an exclusive hostelry featuring just two sumptuous suites. Each is named for a famous former resident of the home: the Hatfield Suite for actor Hurd Hatfield, star of the classic film The Picture of Dorian Gray, and a resident here from 1951 to 1972; and the Hall Suite named for the original occupant of the house, Reverend Daniel Hall.

"The Hamptons Kitchen" is also available from area bookstores and from all major online booksellers in both print and digital formats.
