Hallockville Museum Farm, the 28-acre preserved farm homestead on the North Fork, will host its 43nd Country Fair on Saturday, Sept. 28 and Sunday, Sept. 29. This year’s Country Fair will feature a family-friendly mix of farm activities, historical tours and re-enactments, folk arts and skills demonstrations, and contemporary music and food trucks on the grounds of Hallockville Museum Farm and adjacent Long Island Antique Power Association on Sound Avenue in Riverhead.
New this year at the fair will be the 3rd NY Regiment 1775 Long Island Revolutionary War re-enactors, colonial cooking demonstrator Diane Schwindt, the Islip Horsemen’s Association Spirit of Long Island Mounted Drill Team, and a traditional post and beam building demonstration. The Hallockville Country Fair promises to deliver an immersive Long Island farm and history experience with folk arts and skills demonstrations, historic home tours, a hayride, pony rides, a petting zoo, tractor pulls and parade, baked goods and handcrafted wares for sale, and traditional children’s games and activities. Rounding out the fair will be live music and food and beverage trucks. A schedule of Country Fair activities is available at www.hallockville.org/countryfair.
