Hallockville Museum Farm, a 28-acre preserved farm homestead in Riverhead, will host its annual Fleece & Fiber Festival on Saturday, May 17 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Rain date: Sunday, May 18.) Recognized as one of Long Island’s largest celebrations of fiber arts and crafts, this year’s festival promises to deliver an immersive experience in fiber arts with displays and demonstrations of knitting, crocheting, quilting, weaving, spinning, basket weaving and even sheep shearing. New this year will be hands-on workshops in knitting, crocheting and weaving. Festival highlights include sheep and llama shearing at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., guided tours of the historic Hallock Homestead, live traditional American music, more than 20 vendors and food trucks.
