In honor of National Librarians Week and librarians everywhere, author Elyse Graham will present her book, Book & Dagger: How Scholars and Librarians Became the Unlikely Spies of World War II. Her talk will describe the untold story of how academics and librarians became spies for the USA's OSS (the precursor of the CIA) and helped turn the tide of war.
Dr. Graham is a professor at Stony Brook University, In addition to Book and Dagger, , she is author of The Republic of Games: Textual Culture Between Old Books and New Media; A Unified Theory of Cats on the Internet;You Talkin' to Me? -The Unruly History of New York English.
