Delve into quilting and explore its applications as an artistic medium! Instructed by multidisciplinary artist William Daniels, participants will be guided through the process and technique of quilting by hand as they transform ordinary textiles into compelling compositions. Historically rooted in storytelling, resistance, and community building, quilting has long been an outlet for creative expression, and Daniels continues this tradition in his work confronting contemporary issues through textile-based work.
Over the course of this 5 ½-hour workshop, each participant will plan, develop, and fabricate a unique 24” x 24” quilt block, learning fundamental quilting skills, tricks, and techniques along the way. All materials, equipment, and supplies will be provided. No prior knowledge of quilting or textiles is required.
