On Sunday, December 7 from 4:00-5:00 PM a family-friendly and festive event will be held at the grounds of Ashawagh Hall, located at Old Stone Highway and Springs Fireplace Road.
Heart of Springs, a neighborhood not-for-profit organization, is sponsoring the Lights of Love fundraiser event. Money raised will fund two scholarships for deserving 8th grade students at the Springs School. The scholarships will acknowledge the students’ community service during the 2025 school year.
For donations of $5.00 each, “Lights of Love” dedications can be made to honor family members, friends, pets as well as to remember loved ones who have passed away. Everyone can purchase as few or as many Lights of Love names that they wish. Donor names and honorees will be listed on a special poster that will be hung under the portico at Ashawagh Hall and will remain there throughout the holiday season.
To mark the start of the winter holidays, the evergreen tree on the grounds of the First Presbyterian Church will be lit with Christmas lights. To add to the festive mood, there will be caroling, and Springs School PTA members will serve hot cocoa, homemade cookies and treats donated by local restaurants and stores. Everyone is welcome - participation is free and pre-registration is not required.
