About Meghan VK
With a sound that's both familiar and fresh, offering soul woven with nostalgic callbacks to Reba and Dolly, Long Islander Meghan VK brings a powerful and natural vibrato to each and every song, mixing her country voice with her New York indie rock roots.
Endorsed by local radio station My Country 96.1 FM, with a committed place in their national artist summer shows at Bald Hill Ampitheater, Meghan has opened for acts such as Chris Stapleton, Brothers Osborne, Darius Rucker, Old Dominion and many others. She was a member of ASCAP's country writers' workshop (class of 2020), and from there earned a cowrite with Bonnie Baker (Hunter Hayes, Reba McIntyre, Rascal Flatts). Named by NSAI as "One To Watch" as well as "recommended for publisher consideration", Meghan's proudest accomplishment goes much deeper, and touches on her time playing the Angela's House Benefit for medically fragile children alongside Lindsay Ell.
She is currently working toward her first EP, with her single "The Hearse" as the first song from that collection. It was both named one of NSAI's Top 40 songs, and added to Ty Bentli's Apple music playlist, with Ty saying "The Hearse had me leaning in to every word - The music played out like a movie scene - well crafted, interesting, introspective and empathetic - Beautifully written". Meghan hopes to connect with her audience through the mediums she's most passionate about—song, story, and strength. Music has always been cathartic for her, and she's eager to share that catharsis with anyone who may need it through her songs.
