Quogue 2025 Summer Series: Nicholas Confessore in Conversation with Genevive Crane
The artificial intelligence race is on and finding its way into all aspects of life, from science and technology, to medicine and education–even the Pope has made it a priority. These two writers will discuss the power and perils of AI for journalists and writers.
Nicholas Confessore is a New York-based political and investigative reporter at The New York Times and a staff writer at The New York Times Magazine. In addition to covering American politics and government he also writes about the tech industry, cable news, and tax evasion by the ultrawealthy. He was part of a team of reporters whose coverage of the downfall of Governor Eliot Spitzer won the 2009 Pulitzer Prize for breaking news reporting and in 2019 he and his colleagues were Pulitzer finalists for their investigation of Facebook and other social media companies. He is also a contributor to MSNBC where he provides on-air news analysis.
Genevieve Sly Crane won the 2020 Whiting Award for her first book, Sorority, about the dark side of sisterhood. She currently teaches in the Creative Writing and Literature BFA program at Stony Brook University.
Author conversations begin at 5:00 PM followed by a Q&A and a wine reception, book sales and signing.
