Are questions, concerns, or doubts preventing you from making a personal connection with God? On Easter weekend, South Bay Bible Church, 578 Montauk Highway, East Moriches, is beginning a powerful series directed to men and women who desire a personal relationship with God but have questions they want answered first.
Obstacles to Faith is a four-part series starting Saturday, April 11, at 5:00 p.m. and Easter Sunday, April 12, at 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. In this series, Pastor Martin Hawley will make a case for the fact that adults don't become followers of Christ by getting all their questions answered. In most instances, something happens that shrinks those questions. And that something is always personal. You don't have to understand everything to believe something.
This four-part series comprises the following messages:
1. It’s Reason Enough (John 1:43-49) – April 11-12: There is something keeping you from placing your faith in Christ as your Savior. I would like to help you move beyond it.
2. It’s Relationship (Genesis 12:1-3; 15:5-6; Matthew 18:1-4) – April 18-19: Salvation begins with God. He always makes the first move.
3. It’s Undeniable (John 9) – April 25-26: You don’t have to understand everything to believe in something. Don’t allow the unexplainable to overshadow the undeniable. Our inability to answer our own questions doesn't define Jesus. He is who He is. There may always be things you can't explain, but faith rests in what you cannot deny.
4. It Isn’t Religion (Acts 7-9) – May 2-3: The question that shrinks all other questions is “Who is Jesus?”. Your answer to that question determines the validity of all the other questions.
