Please join us Sunday, May 14th from 6 – 8 pm for an Open Studios with resident artist Ayasha Guerin! During her open studio, Ayasha will share footage from video works-in-progress filmed on Shinnecock during her residency at Ma’s House. She’ll give a short artist’s talk about her practice of making work at shorelines, which is led by practices of reading, observation, listening, and connecting human and animal experiences. You are invited to bring your own stories for a broader conversation about nurturing more-than-human relations.
“Conceptually, I am looking for language to acknowledge what we have lost and how we might repair or re-imagine our relations, other ways of living with animals, plants, ocean, even the storms and fires that force change and regeneration.”
