Poem in Your Pocket Day was initiated in 2002 and takes place during National Poetry Month in April. This year it falls on April 29. Have you ever tucked a poem that you’ve read into your pocket or purse that had special meaning for you, or a poem you wanted to show to a friend? Was it one you wanted to memorize, or perhaps a poem you didn’t completely understand and wanted to read again later? If not, you can choose a poem by an established writer (not a poem that you have written) that you would like to find in your pocket that you would like to share. Each attendee will bring along a poem to read for the group and then we’ll discuss them.
