Napeague State Park, Lazy Point Road, Amagansett Distance: 2 miles. Level: moderate
The Promised Land Trail is a loop trail of slightly less than 2 miles. We will follow it through low pitch pines, cacti and sand dunes out to Gardiners Bay, then return through a forest to the parking lot. We will spot the remains of factories that processed menhaden for fish meal and fish oil. We may also stroll along the beach if people are up for it. Meet 10 AM in the parking lot at the intersection of Napeague Meadow Road and Lazy Point Road/Cranberry Hole Road, Amagansett. Leader: Peter Coy,
