In this workshop with Modern Marionette's Kim Profaci, participants will see how a piece of fabric can come to life and tell a story by making their own scarf marionette and using custom-made controls to make basic movements. Kim will begin with an introduction to puppetry, its history and significance as a global art form. She will then lead participants through a step-by-step process to make their own scarf marionettes, learn how to make basic movements, and perform for others. Controls and fabric will be provided, or participants may bring their own lightweight fabrics measuring 12x12".
For all ages (we recommend children under 12 be accompanied by an adult).
