Pitch Your Peers (PYP), a collective philanthropy initiative, proudly announces its 3rd annual Pitch Day, taking place on October 25th from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Scoville Hall in Amagansett. Pitch Day is open to the public. Only members are eligible to vote.
Since its launch in April 2023, PYP The Hamptons has united philanthropic women from the community to collaboratively identify and investigate local nonprofits that qualify for a collective grant. This year's grant is set to exceed $55,000. By combining individual membership contributions of $1,000, PYP members are positioned to provide significant funding to a nonprofit organization of their collective selection. In its inaugural year, PYP awarded i-tri with $35,000. In 2024, the Springs Food Pantry received $35,000, while Project Most was granted $10,000.
This upcoming Pitch Day highlights the dedicated efforts of PYP members to identify deserving organizations in The Hamptons, conduct comprehensive research, and prepare compelling presentations. After the pitches on October 25th, members will cast their votes to determine the grant recipients: $45,000 for the first place and $10,000 for the second place. Importantly, there is no formal request for proposals (RFP); only members can present their chosen causes and participate in the voting process.
The four nonprofit organizations selected for the grant pitch include:
1. The American Heart Association (Heart of the Hamptons), presented by Samantha Macleod
2. East End Food, presented by Cindi Crain
3. The Retreat, presented by Anne Kothari & Cate Carbonaro
4. Share The Harvest Farm, presented by Meredith Arm
