ocal artists Andrea Cote and Lesley Obrock share a passion for printmaking, pushing its possibilities on and off the press. Both enjoy the elements of experimentation, improvisation, and surprise found in this versatile medium.
Lesley Obrock has created a rich personal vocabulary of organic forms and geometric shapes that she layers using hand-cut stencils. She employs monotype and gel plate techniques to create one-of-a-kind prints in brilliant colors that vibrate with energy.
Andrea Cote has always been inspired by the human body. Her abstract compositions are made from hair, fingerprints, and her own silhouette. Radiant mandalas, organic grids, and lines swirl and coil in unique monoprints, lithographs and collagraphs that challenge the traditions of printmaking.
