MM Fine Art is delighted to present "Rainer Andreesen: The Space Between", a solo exhibition of recent works. The exhibition will highlight a selection of portraits and East End landscapes and open with an artist’s reception, Saturday, August 28, 5 to 8 PM and remain on view through September 19, 2021. This is Andreesen’s second solo exhibition with MM Fine Art.
Portrait painting has always been a fascination for Andreesen, and he strives to capture the humanity and soul of his subjects while letting the viewer create their own story behind his images. Born in 1963, Rainer Andreesen was raised on a remote island on the north west coast of Canada. Drawing since age 5, his obsession with art and the love of old master paintings from Rembrandt to John Singer Sargent led him to further his education in the arts. Like the masters who influenced him Andreesen, now a New Yorker, has long been driven by the desire to not merely draw a likeness of a person but to convey the essence of their spirit. He has completed painting commissions for the likes of Kathy Bates, JJ. Abrams, Martin Short, Alfred Molina, Jennifer Garner and many others. His work is included in numerous important private collections throughout the country.
