During winter months, seals hailing from Canada congregate in the waters of Block Island Sound and “haul out” on the rocks. Even without seals, this trail offers many delights, with majestic American beech trees, picturesque swampland, abundant mountain laurel and American holly, as well as a sweeping view of the Sound. Meet on Camp Hero Road in Montauk, a right turn off Rt 27 about 1 mile east of Deep Hollow Ranch. Look for the white street sign on your right at the end of a distinct bend in the road.
