Presenter: Entomologist Jeffry Petracca, the Long Island Aquarium
As spring sets in and we start to head back to the beaches, take a moment to reflect on many of the overlooked creatures of the shoreline. Many crabs, crustaceans, and even insects exploit the habitat and resources of so-called intertidal zone, an area between the high and low points of the tide. Join entomologist Jeffry Petracca for a virtual discussion of the biology of some of these surprisingly bizarre creatures and meet some of the insects and crustaceans that live on beaches, salt marshes, and riverbanks around the world from the Long Island Aquarium’s collections. This program is for all ages.
