Wooly Bear Caterpillar Search: This walk is for children and families.

In early spring the black and red banded Woolly Bear caterpillars wake up from their winter sleep. After they find something to eat they make brown colored cocoons where they pupate or change into their adult life stage: the Isabella Tiger Moth. When the caterpillars emerge as adults later in the spring, they only live a few short weeks and must find a mate and lay eggs to complete their life cycle. We will search under old wood and leaves on the trail behind the museum to see where Woolly Bears spend the winter. Enrollment limited, please reserve early.
There is a $15 fee for Adults and $10 fee for children for this program. Members are free.
