YAWP Summer Writing Workshops for Teen Writers mentor young people in the development of creative expression and critical thinking through writing. Sponsored by the Lichtenstein Center on Stony Brook University’s Southampton campus, this online Scriptwriting Workshop will be led by a professional screenwriter who is also an Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences Nicholl Fellow and Stony Brook faculty member. Each student will be guided through the building blocks of effective dramatic writing and create their own short, two-character script for stage or screen. The final day is devoted to a reading of students' work. This reading will be recorded online and can be shared with family and friends.
