A Family-Friendly Event
This program is a perfect blend of culture, art, wildlife and music. Each student
will learn about basic ceramic techniques while creating a personalized clay pinch
pot into the form of their favorite animals. Pinch pots were one of the most basic
forms of Native ceramics decorated with symbols and designs to share stories.
Participants will first be taught about Native American culture with samples of
artworks and flute music!
About Tony Valderrama:
Tonito Valderrama is an internationally recognized environmental artist and educator, focusing on environmental issues like deforestation and endangered species. Founder of The Artist's Nest, Valderrama continues to share his art and education worldwide. His nature installations have won awards, and he is now the Director of the Wilderness Traveling Museum, promoting indigenous arts and culture across Long Island.
