Russian by birth, American by music: Svetlana is a New York-based acclaimed chart-topping vocalist, composer, band leader, educator, and a Manhattan School of Music MA and Columbia PhD graduate. Svetlana’s sound blends swing, straight-ahead jazz , and original material, forging deep connections with audiences with her strong vocals, charismatic performance style, exciting improvisational aspects of performance, and engaging storytelling. Her latest record, Night at the Movies, debuted #1 on US Billboard Traditional Jazz Album Charts in 2019.
Svetlana and her band have headlined sold out shows in renowned jazz clubs, performing arts centers in the US (Blue note / Blue note festival, Regatta Bar, Jazz Standard, DC Jazz Festival) and at the Tel Aviv Blues Festival, the Jerusalem Globus Festival, the Italian Rovigo Jazz Festival, India’s Total Environment Foundation, and Canada’s Jazz Bistro, among various others.
