Katy’s Courage (P.O. Box 3251, Sag Harbor, NY 11963 www.katyscourage.org) is hosting the tenth annual skate-a-thon at Buckskill Winter Club (178 Buckskill Road, East Hampton, NY 11937 631-324-2243 www.buckskillwinterclub.com) on Saturday, March 5 beginning at 10:30 a.m. All proceeds will benefit Katy’s Courage. Throughout the day, participants and viewers may stop by the annual bake sale for treats and partake in a raffle drawing. Pre-registration is required for the hockey games and try curling. The schedule for the day, subject to change, is as follows:
10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. – Parents & Kids Hockey Game ($35 per player /pre-registration required)
12:15 to 1:15 p.m. – Learn to Skate Classes
1:15 to 2:45 p.m. – Regular Public Skating
3 to 3:15 p.m. – Puck Throw ($5 per puck)
3:15 to 5:30 p.m. – Public Skating
4 to 5:30 p.m. – Try Curling ($20 per person/pre-registration required)
5:45 to 6:15 p.m. – Ice Show: Warm Up
6:30 to 7:30 p.m. – Ice Show – Free Admission
7:30 p.m. - Raffle Drawing
7:45 to 9:15 p.m. – Adult Hockey Game ($35 per player /pre-registration required)
Katy’s Courage is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization honoring Katy Stewart, an inspirational 12-year-old girl who died from a rare form of pediatric liver cancer. The organization is dedicated to supporting education, children’s bereavement support and pediatric cancer research.
