The Black-capped Chickadee─Up Close and Personal: This program is for adults, teens, and children ages 8 and older.
Program Leader: John Turner, SOFO Board of Directors
The Black-capped chickadee is one of the more familiar and common songbirds found on Long Island. But this small and modest songbird has a not-so-well-known and fascinating life history and possesses a set of abilities that enable it to thrive here—like “growing” its brain in the winter! We’ll see chickadees up close and personal as the tame population at Morton readily takes unsalted sunflower seeds from your hand. Come join SOFO for this enjoyable family experience.
For nonmembers, there is a $15 fee for Adults and $10 fee for children for this program. SOFO Members are free.
Advanced reservations are required for all events. To register for this program, please contact us at info@sofo.org or call 631-537-9735.
