The Black-capped Chickadee is one of the most popular and common songbirds on Long Island. We'll visit the Elizabeth Morton National Wildlife Refuge in Noyac to see the species up close and personal, where a tame population of chickadees and other songbirds will feed from your hand. Please bring unsalted sunflower seeds. We'll focus on some of the interesting aspects of chickadees, such as adaptations, that enable them to survive the winter, along with basic information about chickadee society. This outdoor nature program is limited to 20 people, so make your reservations early. In the event of steady rain this event will be cancelled.
