About Kook Rock-Ski

Damon Wimbley aka Kool Rock Ski is a member of the legendary Disco 3/Fat Boys. The group emerged in the early 1980’s and with fellow members Mark “Prince Markie Dee” Morales and Darren “Buff Love” Robinson, they heavily influenced hip hop culture through beatbox, comedic charisma and rhymes. The trio released seven studio albums, four of which went Gold by RIAA. Their first two albums were produced by the legendary Kurtis Blow.

The Fat Boys had several successful singles including “Stick ‘Em”, “Can You Feel It”, “The Fat Boys Are Back”, “Wipe Out”, “Fat Boys” and “Jail House Rap” to name a few. They also recorded the theme song for the film, A Nightmare On Elm Street 4: The Dream Master entitled “Are You Ready For Freddy” featuring Robert Englund as Freddy Krueger. The Fat Boys also starred in three feature films, Krush Groove, Knights of the City and Disorderlies. Throughout the career of The Fat Boys they participated in several tours including Fresh Fest. After the breakup of the group they maintained a strong brotherhood.

After the loss of Buff Love and Prince Markie Dee, Kool Rock Ski has been on a mission to keep the legacy of the group alive. In 2021, he began a partnership with Certified Nation Entertainment and the late Venus Mizell and orchestrated the Classic Hip Hop and R&B Cookout in Gershwin Park located in East, NY, Brooklyn. The school in which The Fat Boys attended, J.H.S. 166 stands behind the park. The event paid homage to hip hop legends who passed, including Prince Markie Dee that year as well as provided a free community event for all to attend and enjoy. In 2022, the second annual Classic Hip Hop and R&B Cookout was held in the same location.

Kool Rock Ski is featured on two hit singles which were released in 2021. The first is “Hush” by the legendary Kokane followed by “Realigned” by City The Great of Certified Nation Entertainment. A petition was created by City The Great and manager, Samantha Leavell to induct The Fat Boys into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. In late 2022, Kool Rock Ski also launched an online store entitled The Rock and Sam Shop in which Disco 3/ Fat Boys apparel and accessories are available for purchase. Currently, Kool Rock Ski is working on a Fat Boys documentary and biopic film.
