Southampton's MM Fine Art will be hosting their closing reception on Saturday, December 2nd from 6-8 PM and the exhibition will remain on view through Christmas Eve. The Last Picture Show features local artists Terry Elkins and Rainer Andreesen. Elkins' oil paintings, pastels, drawings and watercolors cover a range of subjects from landscapes and seascapes to maritime and nautical images and historic architectural landmarks, however, this show will solely feature landscapes from his Wainscott Pond series. Andreesen specializes in oil paint portraiture and his recent Paper Crown series will be on full display in MM's North Gallery. This series is a collection of portraits that vulnerably depict those who have impacted Andreseen throughout his career.
The Last Picture Show will be supplemented by an artist talk on Sunday, December 3rd at 3 PM. Admission is open to the public and guests are welcome to gain insight on the artists' work and processes. You can find the gallery at 4 North Main St., Southampton or visit mmfineart.com for more information.
