The Oarsman is an imagined character whose thoughts and voyages artist Barry McCallion documented in a series of unique, handmade, illustrated books. The Oarsman’s Library includes art books based on the letters of Vincent Van Gogh, the W.B. Yeats poem, “An Irish Airman Foresees His Death”, and a foldout book on Erik Satie & Jean Cocteau’s modernist ballet "Parade", among many others.
