The Synagogues of Long Island (In-Person)

Description:

Historian Brad Kolodny, author of Seeking Sanctuary: 125 Years of Synagogues on Long Island and president of the Jewish Historical Society of Long Island, has visited and documented every current and former synagogue building on the island. His passion for uncovering the past has led to the discovery of many little known or long forgotten facts about the history of the Jewish community in Nassau and Suffolk counties. Mr. Kolodny will share photos, records, and anecdotes ranging from the very first synagogue built on Long Island in Setauket to present day congregations.
