Tour of the Town of East Hampton Shellfish Hatchery─Oysters, Clams, and Scallops , and How They Grow: This free program is for adults, teens, and children ages 10 and older.

The East Hampton Town Shellfish Hatchery produces large quantities of oyster (Crassostrea virginica), clam (Mercenaria mercenaria), and bay scallop (Argopecten irradians) seed to enhance valuable shellfish stocks in local waterways. On this tour of the shellfish hatchery’s broodstock conditioning, algae culture and shellfish culture systems, in their Navy-built building, expect to see all stages of shellfish from day-old swimming larvae to spat and learn about what they eat, how they are feed and how they are grown at the hatchery.

For nonmembers, there is a $15 fee for Adults and $10 fee for children for this program. This program fee will also provide non-members with free admission to the museum on a day of their choice. Members are free.
