Stars, Maps, and Stories
This presentation is a reflection on the benefits of honoring and protecting creativity and storytelling as essential elements of our humanity. Atena will discuss elements of her journey as an artist, and how making and storytelling have proved to be lifesaving and nurturing as they show up in everyday life.

Speaker Bio: Atena Danner is a Black, queer creative: parent, educator, organizer living in colonially occupied territory in the midwest which is in the ancestral land of the Potowatomi, Octei Sakawin, and Peoria peoples(known to many as Evanston, Illinois). Atena has been a member of Second Unitarian Church of Chicago for 18 years, serving in the areas of religious education, social justice, and anti-racist community building, and singing in the choir. Atena has also been organizing with Black Lives of Unitarian Universalism as a member of Team Sankofa for the past 3 years, is a BLUU Beloved member, and part of the local Chicago-area BLUU Haven community.
