Not Since Gutenberg: How Community Journalism Has Changed in 25 Years
Not since Gutenber and the invention of the printing press has there been a time of change like journalism has experienced in the past quarter century -- the internet, social media and a deeply partisan divide have all changed the landscape even for local newspapers. How that affects journalists -- and readers -- is a conversation we need to have, urgently.

I am executive editor of the Express News Group, which publishes The Southampton Press, The East Hampton Press, The Sag Harbor Express, the website 27east.com, and The Express magazine. I'm also co-host of "Behind the Headlines" on WLIW-FM, a weekly conversation with the region's award-winning local journalists, and a regular on the 27Speaks podcast. A native of Pittsburgh and a graduate of Point Park College (now University), with degrees in English and Journalism/Communications, I have been married for 31 years to Dana. We have two cats.
