Don't Just Stand There, Walk

Sometimes we wait for God to help us. And sometimes, we’ve got to take the first step ourselves.
Speaker Bio: Shawn is a 32-year-old Black man who has lived in the same neighborhood his entire life with his family, who have lived there for over 50 years. When he became fearful of walking in his own neighborhood alone, Shawn posted on Nextdoor and Facebook. His neighbors quickly volunteered to walk with him, behind him, and alongside him. When he showed up for his walk on May 27th , over 75 neighbors were there to support him. This is how #WeWalkWithShawn was born. Since this first walk, Shawn has organized over 100 local and national walks to encourage neighbors to walk together, and build stronger communities one step at a time.
