Celebrating the Polish Brethren
Speaker: Rev. Ned Wight
Musician: Abby Fleming
Worship Assistant: Sue Penny
We welcome the Rev. Ned Wight back to our pulpit for a look back 400 years to the Polish Brethren -- theological radicals who founded communities in southern Poland that tolerated unorthodox ideas at a time when people were killing one another over such differences elsewhere in Europe. What and who inspired The Polish Brethren? What happened to their movement in and around Racov in the mid-1600's? Who might their history inform our views on "interdependence"? Having just returned from a week-long study trip to Poland, Rev. Ned will share some of her reflections and insights.
Speaker Bio: Before retirement, the Rev Ned Wight, served as the interim minister at the UU Congregation in Shelter Rock at the other end of Long Island.
