The Lichtenstein Center’s MFA in Creative Writing Program at Stony Brook Southampton presents Writers Speak with Maya Shanbhag Lang.

Join us for a free reading and Q&A.

Maya Shanbhag Lang is the author of What We Carry, named to several “Best Of” and Editors’ lists, from The New York Times and Amazon to “Good Morning America” and PopSugar. She is also the author of The Sixteenth of June, a modern reinterpretation of James Joyce’s Ulysses, long listed for the Center for Fiction First Novel Prize.

The American Civil Rights Museum named Lang a “Woman You Should Know” for her depictions of the Indian American experience. Lang holds a PhD in Comparative Literature. She is the extremely proud parent of a non-binary teenager and lives in Westchester, New York.
