Award-winning poet Mark Doty leads a morning writing workshop inspired by his new book What is the Grass: Walt Whitman in My Life. The book combines biography, literary criticism and memoir in an eloquent narrative about the influence of one of America's greatest poets on Doty. The workshop will use excerpts from Whitman's poems as prompts for various writing exercises. The workshop is suitable for both poets and prose writers.
