The Express News Group hosted its latest “Local Matters” themed Express Sessions panel discussion on Thursday, October 23, at the American Hotel in Sag Harbor.
The “Local Matters” event focused on Sag Harbor Village and the issues most important to residents, including those living in the village and the surrounding communities of Noyac and North Haven.
Sag Harbor is facing multiple development projects that could reshape the downtown, and environmental concerns along the waterfront are front of mind for most stakeholders. Paid parking has expanded beyond Long Wharf and business owners have expressed concerns about how things will unfold next summer. The event will feature a panel of government and community leaders who will help lead Sag Harbor into the future.
The panel included Sag Harbor Village Trustee Ed Haye, Sag Harbor Village Trustee Aidan Corish, Sag Harbor Variety Store owner Lisa Field, North Haven resident and The Church owner April Gornik, Sen and KPasa owner Jesse Matsuoka and Bay Street Theater Executive Director Tracy Mitchell. It was moderated by Executive Editor Joseph P. Shaw.
