Canoe Place Inn & Cottages in Hampton Bays is getting festive for the holidays.

Fireside Fridays is a regular weekly seasonal gathering of old and new friends for hot cocoa, hot toddies and s’mores and is offered every Friday from 5 to 7 p.m.

The season kicks into high gear on Saturday, December 10, with gingerbread house-making. From 2 to 4 p.m., guests will enjoy hot cocoa, cider and cookies while working with pastry chefs to create a festive gingerbread house. The cost is $48 per person.

Latke making with Slow Food on December 13, from 6 to 8 p.m. will feature executive chef Ulfet Ralph and local nonprofit organization Slow Food offering a special East End Hanukkah celebration. The evening’s festivities kick off with cocktails and canapés, followed by a latke-making lesson where participants learn how to grate, mix and season organic local Sagaponack potatoes and turn them into delicious latkes. They will also make applesauce from scratch using Indian Neck apples.

A 3-course Hanukkah dinner prix-fixe follows featuring matzo ball soup, beef brisket with shaved carrot and radish salad, kugel with winter vegetables, rugelach and of course, the latkes and apple sauce that you’ve created. The cost is $114 per person and a portion of sales will go to Slow Food East End.

On December 20, Canoe Place hosts a “12 Days of Christmas Tasting Menu,” a 12-course feast in honor of the holiday at Good Ground Tavern. From “A Partridge in a Pear Tree” (caramelized pears infused with port wine and a touch of maple served on baguette rounds with Catapano chevre from the North Fork) all the way to “12 Drummers Drumming,” pouches of drum kettle corn to go, every day of the famous Christmas song is covered with creative dishes prepared by Chef Ulfet Ralph. The cost of the dinner is $175 per person.
