Jobs Lane in Southampton turned into a hub of food, art, and community spirit on August 13, when chef Marco Barrila of Insatiable Eats teamed up with Platinum Capital Advisors for a benefit supporting Citizens 4 Humanity. The local nonprofit, founded by Barrila and his wife, Sheila, is working to establish a cooking school and hospitality academy in Umbria, Italy, offering American students the chance to study abroad through food and culture.
More than 250 people gathered for the free community event, which doubled as the launch of Platinum Capital Advisors’ new mortgage brokerage office. The firm partnered with local real estate attorneys to transform 47 Jobs Lane into a lively pop-up venue. Inside and out, the evening felt like a village block party with a global twist.
Guests sampled Barrila’s Pastaria favorites alongside specialties from Insatiable Eats and the Shinnecock Lobster Factory, paired with pours from Wölffer Estate Vineyard. Live music from Ludmilla and Libations kept the mood bright, while volunteers and vendors created an atmosphere of generosity. Those who donated toward the cause were gifted Italian juice pressers — a small taste of the program’s mission to share Italian culinary traditions with young learners.
The art world also had its moment: An exhibition featuring works by Peter Max, Andy Warhol, Picasso, and more opened during the celebration. The collection remains on view through September at the Kaplan, DiTrapani, Faria & Manin law offices on Jobs Lane, with proceeds benefiting Citizens 4 Humanity.
For those who couldn’t attend, donations can still be made online to help support the creation of the Umbria school and open new doors for students.
Barefoot luxury has found its winter home again. From November 17, 2025, through April 19, 2026, Duryea’s — the East End dining institution with beloved waterfront outposts in Montauk and Orient Point — will take over the Beach Club at the St. Regis Kanai Resort in Riviera Maya for a second season.
The pop-up transforms the resort’s beachfront into a Mediterranean-inspired escape, with teak furnishings, natural wood accents, and a palette that mirrors the turquoise waters just steps away. The menu brings Duryea’s classics south of the border, including the famed Lobster Cobb Salad, shareable Mediterranean spreads, and wood-grilled asado platters meant for lingering seaside meals.
Set within the exclusive Kanai enclave, the St. Regis stretches along two miles of protected coast and mangroves, with architecture that nods to Mayan cosmology and the Pleiades star cluster. Against this backdrop, Duryea’s invites guests to settle in with chilled rosé, mezze, and a view that makes winter feel like summer.
With its mix of design, cuisine, and coastal ease, Duryea’s Beach Club promises another season of sun, salt, and seaside indulgence in Mexico’s Caribbean.
