Local Flavors Shine at Harvest Wine Dinner at The 1770 House

East Hampton’s culinary scene came alive on October 30 as The 1770 House hosted an exclusive Harvest Wine Dinner, bringing together local food and beverage luminaries. Guests gathered to savor a five-course menu celebrating the region’s finest ingredients, thoughtfully paired with Channing Daughters wines.

The evening highlighted the collaborative talents of Balsam Farms’ Alex Balsam and Ian Calder-Piedmonte, Channing Daughters’ winemaker and partner Christopher Tracy, and The 1770 House’s Executive Chef Michael Rozzi and Wine Director Michael Cohen. Each course showcased seasonal local bounty, from Montauk striped bass with nori-cured trout roe to honey and lavender-glazed Long Island duck breast, culminating in a dessert of Milk Pail apples poached in late-harvest wine.

The dinner underscored the philosophy that great cuisine is rooted in thoughtful sourcing, celebrating the relationships between chefs, farmers and winemakers that make the East End food scene exceptional.

Savor the Season With Wölffer Estate Vineyard

As the leaves turn and the air grows crisp, Wölffer Estate Vineyard is inviting wine lovers and foodies alike to celebrate the flavors of fall and the approaching holidays. The vineyard is rolling out a season of events that blend fine wine, thoughtful cuisine, and lively conversation.

Kick off the season on Friday, November 7, with “From Harvest to Harbor,” an intimate five-course dinner at Le Bilboquet in Sag Harbor. Guests will sip carefully paired Wölffer Estate vintages while dining under the guidance of winemaker Roman Roth, a true pioneer of Long Island wine. It’s a night designed for lingering over great food, exquisite wine, and friendly chatter.

For a deeper dive into the region’s signature varietals, mark your calendar for Friday, November 14, when the Long Island Wine Country Blanc & Franc Summit takes over RGNY Vineyard in Riverhead. Attendees can explore Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Franc through walk-around tastings from more than 20 local wineries, enjoy exclusive library pours, and take in a panel discussion featuring Roth and other notable voices in the Long Island wine scene.

Sip a Stray Dog Martini at Calissa To Support Local Dog Rescue

This November, Calissa is raising a glass for a good cause. Every Friday from November 7 through 28, the coastal-inspired Greek restaurant at 1020 Montauk Highway in Water Mill will be serving its Stray Dog Martini, made with Stray Dog Wild Gin from Greece.

Distilled with wild-foraged Mediterranean botanicals, Stray Dog Wild Gin not only delivers a crisp, aromatic flavor but also supports animal shelters — making each cocktail a toast to dogs in need. Proceeds from the martini will benefit Tyler’s Rescue, Inc., a South Fork-based foster dog rescue dedicated to finding homes for local pups.

Now in its eighth year bringing the spirit of Mykonos to the East End, Calissa continues to be a go-to destination for fresh Greek cuisine, an award-winning wine list, and vibrant gatherings. For more information, visit calissahamptons.com/event/straydog.
