Cocktails With a Cause
South Fork Bakery presents its 2nd annual Cocktails With a Cause on Saturday, November 11, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Tutto il Giorno on Main Street in Sag Harbor. Proceeds from the event will help sustain South Fork Bakery’s mission to provide meaningful, paid employment to adults with disabilities on the East End. The mission extends to the training and placement of adults with disabilities with employer partners in businesses throughout Suffolk County, through Launch, SFB’s Training and Employment Program.
SFB’s biggest fundraiser of the year, Cocktails With a Cause will once again feature Tutto il Giorno’s delicious hors d’oeuvres and a silent auction with close to 50 diverse items including artwork, international destinations, exclusive culinary experiences, baskets full of diverse items from East End villages, a priceless book collection signed by the author, and much, much more.
“The response to our 2nd Annual Cocktails With a Cause has been awesome,” remarked Steve Hamilton, SFB’s executive director. “And the good folks at Tutto il Giorno have been extraordinarily generous again this year.”
SFB founder and program director Shirley Ruch added, “The support from this event is vital to our ability to expand Launch, our new training and employment program. We will be able to increase the number of employees placed with employer partners in local community jobs next year.”

Root to Glass Dinner
A Root to Glass Dinner will be held at Léon 1909 on Shelter Island on Thursday, November 16, at 7:15 p.m. with a menu by the restaurant’s chef, Mason Lindahl, and cocktails from Sagaponack Distillery. The menu will include smoked whitefish creme fraiche served with a potato chip martini cocktail; duck confit salad with a duck fat Sazerac cocktail; saucisson de Lyon served with an Aquavit daiquiri; sweet potato cake served with a sweet potato clarified milk punch cocktail.

Winemaker Dinner at Southold Social
Bedell Cellars will host a “Holiday Hosting Dried Florals Workshop” with Hometown Flower Co. on Sunday, November 19, from noon to 1:30 p.m. The Sunday morning session will include a 90-minute guided floral workshop where you will create a set of four dried floral napkin rings and dried floral place cards all sourced from the floral bar, complete with an assortment of dried florals. Bedell Cellars is also partnering with Chef Francois Payard who is hosting a Winemaker Dinner at Southold Social on Thursday, November 30, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The evening will feature a four-course menu and each course will be paired with a wine chosen by Bedell Cellar’s winemaker Rich Olsen-Harbich. Gurney’s Igloos by the Sea Are Back
The Retreat is once again partnering with Gurney’s Montauk as one of the beneficiaries of its famed igloos, which will be open daily through March 31, 2024.
Outdoors on Gurney’s deck are six heated igloos overlooking the ocean. Guests can stay warm and refreshed with an all new special bites and curated cocktail menu. A $50 per reservation fee upon booking will be donated to The Retreat, Concerned Citizens of Montauk, Montauk Historical Society and Project Most. Igloos can be reserved for up to six people with a two-hour time limit and with a $100 minimum spend on food and beverage.
“We are so excited that the igloos are back! And of course, we’re so thankful to be one of the organizations that is benefiting from this seasonal seaside treat,” said Loretta K. Davis, executive director of The Retreat. “Gurney’s stands out as a large business that continues to show support for the East End community as well as for The Retreat. It’s these types of relationships that keep our community strong.”

Lighting of the Vines
The 14th Annual Lighting of the Vines, a charity event benefiting the Bridgehampton Child Care & Recreational Center, will take place at Wölffer Estate Vineyard in Sagaponack on Saturday, December 2, from 6 to 8 p.m.
Enjoy live holiday music, passed hors d’oeuvres, Wölffer wines and an awe-inspiring lighting display illuminating Wölffer’s winter vineyard rows. The evening includes a silent auction of holiday wreaths designed by community artists, designers and business owners. Proceeds of the wreath auction will benefit The Bridgehampton Child Care & Recreational Center, a community- organization serving all marginalized East End children and families.
The event is hosted in the Wölffer Tasting Room, heated outdoor terrace and the adjacent lawn. Expect to spend most time outdoors, so dress appropriately, bring a jacket, hat and gloves to stay warm.
General admission tickets are $175. A VIP outdoor heated seating area for eight guests is $3,000 and includes early entrance, views directly next to the vines, wine bottles and charcuterie. A VIP terrace table for up to 12 guests is $15,000, and includes early entrance, guaranteed seating, sparkling wines, charcuterie and more. Claudio’s New Fall Menu
Executive Chef Mike Jeanty of Claudio’s Tavern & Grill has unveiled his new menu for the fall season featuring a variety of new dishes showcasing fresh and local produce integrated with fall flavors. Nick & Toni’s has announced more dates for #WineWednesday Workshops. Spearheaded by Honest Man Hospitality beverage director and certified sommelier Chimene Visser Macnaughton, this collaboration with Wainscott Main Wine & Spirits is in its 10th year on the East End, offering certification-level seminars designed around themed tasting flights. Classes are open to all levels and held Wednesdays from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
