And of course, as always, the whole thing will be local, seasonal and artisanal start-to-finish featuring items from Marilee’s Farmstand, Amber Waves, Stone’s Throw Farm, Bridge Lane Farm, Paul Rogers, Sag Harbor Honey, Bridge Gardens, Quail Hill Farm, Balsam Farm, Feathertop Farm, Mecox Bay Dairy, Pike Farms and Jay the Ramp Guy.

A Solstice Eve Celebration

Slow Food East End and Share The Harvest Farm are teaming up to welcome summer with a Solstice eve. On Friday, June 20, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., guests will gather among the fields at the farm to mark summer’s longest day with seasonal flavors, live music and a shared commitment to sustainability, local agriculture and community.

Slow down and celebrate the work of Share The Harvest, a Slow Food East End “Snail of Approval” award-winning farm. Come for a farm tour with farmer Matt, get to know the farm team to learn more about its mission and growing practices and stay for fun, a beautiful sunset and great eats. Light farm-inspired fare will be served, featuring a seasonal grazing board by Boards by Jess, freshly shucked oysters from Oysterponds Shellfish Company, small bites with Jamagansett jam and flavorful offerings from Aki’s Kitchen served with wines by Channing Daughters and live music courtesy of Amber Roe.

This gathering is an opportunity to slow down, savor the season and support two organizations committed to increasing access to fresh, healthy and local food on the East End.

Share The Harvest is a nonprofit farming organization founded in 2010 in East Hampton, that grows and donates thousands of pounds of fresh vegetables and herbs, serving East End food pantries and local organizations that feed hundreds of children, seniors, disabled people and low-income working families. The farm employs organic methods to encourage a diverse and thriving soil ecosystem that provides a healthy environment for the crops.

A focus on nutrient-rich vegetables and cold-tolerant staple crops provides much-needed produce in early spring and late fall, when many families in the community are struggling to make ends meet. Past donations have allowed Share The Harvest to build greenhouses that extend the growing season and allow the farm to continue delivering produce all year-round.

Tickets for the Solstice eve party are $100 at sharetheharvestfarm.org/events or slowfoodeastend.org. Proceeds support Share The Harvest’s efforts at a time when federal funding cuts are impacting social services and farms that support them. Share The Harvest Farm is at 55 Long Lane in East Hampton.

Cooking Class With Chef Alex at R.AIRE

R.AIRE in Hampton Bays will host a Cooking Class with Chef Alex on Sunday, June 8, from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Guests will master the art of cooking authentic Spanish tapas and paella while sipping Spanish wine.

Chef Alex Bujoreanu, who hails from Spain, has created a menu featuring authentic tapas and paella, inspired by his home in the Mediterranean. Products are sourced seasonally, both locally and imported directly from Spain. Everything is made in house, including all stocks, cured meats and fish. Dishes are prepared in a healthful way, without the use of butter or processed flour. The restaurant’s wine selection, consisting of over 70 varieties, is hand-selected by the chef himself and features limited edition wines.

The cost of the class is $150 per person, plus tax and gratuity and can be purchased at hamptonmaid.com/raire. R.AIRE at The Hampton Maid is at 259 East Montauk Highway in Hampton Bays.
