Country Fair Food And Fun At Hallockville

Country fairs are known for their extraordinary food and the Hallockville Museum Farm’s 41st Country Fair and Craft Show will keep the tradition by showcasing local food producers and farm-to-table preparation. The fair will also feature a jam and honey contest, a farmers market, a bake sale, a beekeeping demonstration, and six food and beverage trucks. These taste-tempting attractions are just a sampling of the many activities at the Hallockville Country Fair, Saturday, September 17, and Sunday, September 18. The fair takes place at Hallockville Museum Farm, a 28-acre preserved farm homestead located in Riverhead.

The schedule of food events includes:

Saturday:

Hallockville Bakers bake sale 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Hallockville Beekeeping demonstrations at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.

Jamesport Sourdough bread demonstration at 11:30 a.m.

Forward Roots kimchi demonstration at 1:30 p.m.

The Family Grubb Hubb quiche demonstration at 1:30 p.m.

Mattituck Mushroom demonstration at 2:30 p.m.

Sweet Woodland Farm elderberry demonstration 3:30 p.m.

Sunday:

Hallockville Bakers bake sale 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Second Annual Hallockville Jam & Honey Competition judging 11 a.m. Winners to be announced at noon.

The Granola Plant demonstration 1:30 p.m.

Le Fusion spring and summer rolls demonstration 2 p.m.

Aki’s Kitchen soups and salads demonstration 2:30 p.m.

In addition to the food offerings, this authentic country fair will feature live music, craft vendors, folk arts displays and demonstrations, historical tours and exhibits, and plenty of children’s activities including a petting zoo, pony and wagon rides, arts and crafts and lawn games.

Hallockville Museum Farm is located at 6038 Sound Avenue in Riverhead. Fair hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Admission to the Hallockville Country Fair is $10 for ages 3 and older (admission for children 2 and under is free) and $35 for a family of two adults and two children.
