‘Stirring the Pot’ Heats Up in August

This unmissable “Stirring the Pot,” in partnership with Rosie’s, will bring the ultimate oyster shucking and wine pairing to Amagansett. A hands-on class in opening the bivalves will be instructed by Jay Wainwright, Seamore’s owner. Guests will slurp the oysters and sample white wines from Palmer and Paumanok Vineyards to decide which is the best match for the mollusks.
Admission is $150 ($135 Guild Hall members) and includes a professional oyster glove and shucking knife to take home. Rosie’s Amagansett is at 195 Main Street in Amagansett. Reserve at guildhall.org
The following week, Sunday, August 13 at 11 a.m., Guild Hall in East Hampton will be the location for “Stirring the Pot: De Gustibus at Guild Hall,” a conversation and demo with Chef Jarrod Huth of Canoe Place Inn. Fabricant will sit down for a chat with Chef Huth, who is the culinary director at the new Canoe Place Inn in Hampton Bays. Chef Huth will demonstrate his dry aged hiramasa (yellow amberjack) with Canoe Place Reserve Caviar and green curry vinaigrette while guests sip on bubbly provided by Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits and sample the end product.
