Swedish Sweets Are
Coming to Sag Harbor

Manhattan Skyline Management Corp., a New York City-based real estate organization, has announced a new long-term lease with Swedish candy company BonBon at 11 Washington Street in Sag Harbor Village.

Founded in 2017 by three Swedish friends — Selim Adira, Robert Persson and Leonard Schaltz — BonBon has revolutionized American candy culture with their authentic Swedish candies and delicacies. This shop marks BonBon’s first location in the Hamptons. Situated just off Main Street with 14 feet of frontage on Washington Street, BonBon plans to open close to Memorial Day Weekend.

BonBon imports 100 percent of its confections, including hundreds of pick-and-mix candies and BonBon Originals creations. With five retail locations in New York City and Brooklyn, and a growing e-commerce business shipping nationwide, BonBon is dedicated to sharing the joy of Swedish sweets with candy lovers everywhere.

“We can’t wait to open BonBon in Sag Harbor,” says co-founder Selim Adira. “This new location allows us to serve our candy loyalists and reach new customers. BonBon truly has something for everyone.”

The space for the new store is being designed in collaboration with Brooklyn-based Studio MOB.

Fundraiser for the Bay

Back to the Bays Sag Harbor — a community-led effort in partnership with Cornell Cooperative Extension to help restore and protect local waters — returns for 2025. This year, the effort will be focused on planting eelgrass, oysters, scallops and clams, and building a Sea Horse Motel to support marine life.

Kidd Squid Brewery in Sag Harbor will release its 2nd annual Brew for the Bay beer — this year it’s a Pilsner — on Friday, May 30, from 5 to 7 p.m. Join the Back to the Bays Team and Kidd Squid Brewing Co. as they celebrate the new brew.

Proceeds from beer sales will directly support the shellfish and habitat restoration work being conducted in the waters off of Sag Harbor through Cornell Cooperative Extension Marine Program’s Back to the Bays Initiative. Bring the family. Learn more about the work underway and how efforts are being made to protect the waters that make this place so special.

A matching donation lined up — so every dollar given is doubled. Learn more at backtothebays.org/sagharbor or donate at backtothebays.org/donate.

Omakase Speakeasy Sushi by Bou Opens in Westhampton Beach

The omakase brand Sushi by Bou is opening a speakeasy concept restaurant that will be tucked away inside Sydney’s “Taylor” Made Cuisine in Westhampton Beach. Sushi by Boū, the flagship brand of the NYC-based hospitality group Simplevenue, will launch in Westhampton Beach on May 23. The opening brings the Sushi by Boū portfolio to 25 locations nationwide.

“Bringing our flagship Sushi by Bou to the Hamptons is an exciting milestone for us,” said founder Michael Sinensky. “Our intimate dining experience, featuring high-quality sushi, offers guests an unforgettable culinary escape. We look forward to becoming a part of the Hamptons’ vibrant dining scene.”

Staying true to the brand’s signature approach — transforming intimate spaces into high-energy culinary escapes — Sushi by Boū brings its latest experience to life through a hidden entrance inside Sydney’s, where guests will answer a riddle before ascending to an intimate, beach-themed sushi counter where a private chef awaits.

In 75 minutes, diners embark on a 12-course edomae-style omakase journey, curated and prepared before their eyes. Omakase, meaning “I’ll leave it up to you,” invites guests to surrender to the chef’s mastery as they’re guided through a tasting of meticulously selected, sustainable seafood. Signature courses include Hamachi (yellowtail), Akami (lean bluefin tuna), Botan Ebi (spotted prawn), Ikura (salmon roe), Bincho (albacore), Maguro (chopped tuna), Hotate (scallop), Gindara (miso black cod), Toro (fatty tuna), Wagyuni (surf n’ turf), Sake (salmon) and Unagi (BBQ eel). The omakase experience is priced at $75 per guest and includes a round of sake. The Boū-gie upgrade features three additional market-fresh seasonal courses, enhancing the 12-course experience with even more variety.

Guests are welcome to arrive early or linger after their omakase to enjoy beer, wine or sake on the patio or front lawn. A small selection of desserts is also available for those who’d like to end their experience on a sweet note in these relaxed, outdoor spaces.

Sushi by Boū Westhampton will offer just eight seats per seating in the intimate space that boasts a coastal chic vibe. Reservations will be available on OpenTable Thursday through Sunday between the hours of 5 p.m. and 12 a.m.

Swifty’s at The Hedges Inn
Now Serving

This season, The Hedges Inn in East Hampton Village enters a new era under Andrew and Sarah Wetenhall, owners of The Colony Hotel Palm Beach.

As part of their stewardship of the inn, the Wetenhalls are debuting Swifty’s, a full-service restaurant open to the public for breakfast, lunch, and dinner seven days a week. The restaurant is the next chapter of the beloved New York City classic, which closed in 2016 and was first revived at The Colony Hotel in Palm Beach in 2019. This marks the first time Swifty’s will have a presence in the Hamptons.

Built in 1873 as a gift from John D. Hedges to his wife, Caroline Isabella Homan Hedges — who was known for her gracious hospitality and legendary breakfasts — The Hedges Inn has long played host to generations of epicureans. During the 1950s it was owned by Henri Soulé, and served as the summer outpost of his famed Le Pavillon, once named the Best Restaurant in the World by Holiday Magazine.

Swifty’s honors this culinary history while bringing a fresh perspective to dining in the Hamptons.

“I couldn’t be more excited to partner with Sarah and Andrew Wetenhall to bring Swifty’s to the Village of East Hampton,” said Robert Caravaggi, founder of the original Swifty’s in New York City. “The Hedges Inn is such a storied and special place — rich with history and charm — and it’s the perfect backdrop for continuing the Swifty’s tradition of warm hospitality, impeccable food, and a lively, welcoming spirit. Together, we look forward to inviting longtime Swifty’s regulars and new guests alike to experience our signature take on relaxed sophistication in the heart of the Hamptons.”

Swifty’s is partnering with regional purveyors such as Montauk Shellfish, Braun Seafood, Balsam Farms, Catapano Dairy Farm and a nearby bakery crafting fresh breads and sweets daily. The beverage program features wines from Wölffer Estate, selections from Michael Cinque of Amagansett Wine & Spirits and seasonal cocktails — alongside zero-proof options that ensure there’s something for everyone.

Under the guidance of executive chef Tom Whitaker, the menu draws inspiration from classic American and continental traditions, while embracing the freshness and nuance of the season. Dishes are designed to be elegant but approachable — nostalgic in spirit, refined in execution, and unwavering in consistency.

Swifty’s at The Hedges is open seven days a week. Just in time for summer, Swifty’s Trivia Nights make their East Hampton debut — already a cult favorite in Palm Beach. Lively, competitive and always a good time, trivia runs from 5 to 6:30 p.m. every Sunday and wraps up just in time for dinner. The Hedges Inn is at 74 James Lane, East Hampton. For reservations, call 631-680-5939 or reserve via Resy.

Talkhouse Encore Unveils Pineapple Tequila Soda

Talkhouse Encore, a line of authentic, spirits-based seltzers inspired by the iconic Hamptons-based venue, the Stephen Talkhouse, is debuting its new flavor: Pineapple Tequila Soda.

Crafted without artificial flavors or added sweeteners, this new release offers authentic pineapple flavor and is poised to be the drink of summer. The new flavor is a blend of premium tequila, sun-ripened pineapple juice and a splash of sparkling soda and it joins Talkhouse Encore’s lineup of six fruit-forward flavors: Iced Tea Lemonade Vodka Soda, Blood Orange Tequila Soda, Grapefruit Tequila Soda, Lime Vodka Soda, Cranberry Vodka Soda and Hampton Mule.

“When developing a new flavor, we conducted extensive research, including reviewing top orders at the Stephen Talkhouse and other restaurants and bars, and found that pineapple consistently ranked as one of the top five mixers,” said Ruby Honkerkamp, CEO and co-founder of Talkhouse Encore. “That insight inspired us to create the perfect tequila pineapple, crafted with carefully selected pineapple juice for alight and refreshing taste in a portable format. It’s a stand-out addition to our lineup and we’re excited for everyone to try it.”

Pineapple Tequila Soda (5 percent ABV) and the full lineup of Talkhouse Encore canned seltzers are available on shelves now in New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts and Connecticut for $13.99 for a 4-pack of cans. For more information, visit talkencore.com.

Claudio’s Greenport Redux

Claudio’s Waterfront in Greenport, a fixture of the North Fork’s dining scene since 1870, has reopened for the 2025 summer season. The complex, home to Claudio’s Tavern & Grill, Claudio’s Pizza and Crabby Jerry’s, is evolving under a new partnership with Gansevoort Street Hospitality. Crabby Jerry’s has been reimagined as Common Country East, while the spaces formerly occupied by Claudio’s Tavern & Grill and Claudio’s Pizza have transformed into Charlie Boy at Claudio’s.

Celeste Fierro, a New York native, serves as the managing partner at Claudio’s Greenport. With nearly two decades of experience, Fierro has made her mark in the hospitality industry, from opening ONE with Jonathan Segel in New York to launching STK, a modern steakhouse and lounge that expanded to 36 locations, pioneering the restaurant boom in the city’s meatpacking district.

“We’re excited to welcome guests back to our waterfront complex for another unforgettable season,” said Fierro.

Claudio’s Greenport is open Saturdays and Sundays from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., expanding to full seasonal hours in late May. Known for dockside dining, Claudio’s signature dishes include lobster rolls, baked clams, New England clam chowder and Claudio’s smash burger, complemented by cocktails like the Mudslide and Claudio’s Rum Punch.

Beginning May 24, Claudio’s will present live music on most Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Friday performances will run from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., with weekend music from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. DJs will entertain guests every Saturday from 9 p.m. until closing, with occasional Friday sets.

The grand openings of Common Country East and Charlie Boy will follow at the end of May. Common Country East debuts as a reimagined country restaurant and bar that blends the laid-back spirit of coastal living with an elevated food and beverage program. Set against the backdrop of Greenport’s harbor, the venue features fresh seafood and summer classics alongside signature cocktails, frozen drinks and a curated selection of beers and whiskeys. Charlie Boy at Claudio’s is an all-day Italian American café concept rooted in the rich traditions of Italian-American cuisine and elevated by a fresh, modern perspective.

Claudio’s Waterfront is at 111 Main Street in Greenport. For more information, visit claudios.com or call 631-477-0627.
