Former Baby Moon Co-Owner Opening New Italian Eatery On North Fork

authorErin McKinley on Mar 15, 2017

A former Westhampton Beach restaurateur is taking his talents to the North Fork after selling his shares in a popular Italian restaurant on Montauk Highway, according to reports.

John Gambino, who used to co-own Baby Moon with his late brother Peter Gambino, is set to open Il Giardino on Main Road in Aquebogue sometime in the next few weeks, according to posts on the new Italian eatery’s Facebook page.

After his brother died in 2013, John Gambino left Baby Moon and the restaurant is now being run by Peter Gambino’s three daughters, Marina Loverde, Paula Marotta and Jacqueline Sciortino. Recently, the Westhampton Beach mainstay closed for two weeks to undergo renovations, but has since reopened its doors.

Il Giardino is set to open in the next few weeks at the former home of the popular Petulant Wino restaurant. The new eatery will be an Italian food and wine bar, with cuisine offerings focusing on the Sicilian region of Italy.
