Jonesey's Closes For Remodeling In Westhampton Beach; Will Reopen Under New Name

authorCarol Moran on Oct 2, 2013

Jonesey’s Food and Drink in Westhampton Beach closed its doors earlier this week, and the owner said he intends to remodel the Montauk Highway restaurant before reopening under a new name later this month.

Mark Jones, who has owned the business for the past five years, said he has hired a new chef who will run the restaurant, though he declined to name the individual until an agreement is finalized. He explained that the move will afford him the opportunity to step back from the restaurant business and instead focus full-time on his local construction work. He has been in that line of work for the past three decades.

Mr. Jones said he expects to reopen the restaurant in three weeks under a new name that has yet to be determined.

In the meantime, the building’s interior will be remodeled and the menu reworked with a new “farm-to-the-table” focus, he said. Mr. Jones explained that hopes to use as much fresh produce and local ingredients as he can, possibly with organic options and a Mediterranean theme.

“I think it will be very unique,” he said on Tuesday.
