Bedell’s Dog Day Afternoon

Bedell Cellars at 36225 Main Road in Cutchogue is calling all dog lovers to grab their pooches and come to a Dog Day Afternoon at the winery on Friday, November 27, from 2 to 5 p.m.

The doggie-friendly event will host several activities throughout the afternoon. A portion of the proceeds from the day’s events will be donated to the North Fork Animal Welfare League (www.nfawl.org) located in Southold. Of course, all dogs are welcome at the event, but must be on a leash. For more information, call 631-734-7537.

Updated Menu at Blue Sky

Blue Sky Mediterranean Lounge on Main Street in Sag Harbor has announced a new dessert menu, with new items including: pâtisserie “Blue Sky” trio aux chocolat, $12; crème brulée, $8; fresh fruit tart with gelato, $9; profiteroles vanilla crème, $9; white chocolate crème brulée, $9; mango, raspberry and lemon sorbet, $3 (per serving); and Gianduia chocolate, hazelnut, amaretto, vanilla and dark chocolate gelato, $3 (per serving).

Blue Sky has also updated its lunch menu, available every day beginning at 11:30 a.m. The lunch menu is a modified version of the Mediterranean dinner menu.

Blue Sky has also revamped the patio room, transforming it into a “Fireplace Lounge” with frosted windows, large 54-inch screen TV, and a piano from Harrods in London. There will be weekly performances by a jazz duo, Spanish guitars, and a DJ night.

New Fall Prix Fixe at Matto

Matto at 104 North Main Street in East Hampton has announced a new fall prix fixe served daily for $29 per person, including a complimentary glass of wine for each diner. The three-course special menu is available Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday all night and on Saturday from 5 to 6:30 p.m.

Matto is now open every day except Tuesday. Dinner begins at 5 p.m. and lunch is served Saturday and Sunday beginning at noon. For more information, call Matto at 631-329-0200 or visit www.mattorestaurant.com.

Cavaniola’s Gourmet Kitchen

In the six months since Cavaniola’s Gourmet Cheese and Wine Cellar on Division Street in Sag Harbor opened a Gourmet Kitchen for take-out next door, certain offerings have established themselves as customer favorites.

Currently, some of the Gourmet Kitchen’s best-sellers are the crabcakes, meatloaf (a blend of kobe brisket, veal and pork stuffed with 5-year-old gouda), house mac and cheese, and celery salad with dates, pecorino, and walnuts. Also offered is a small selection of fresh fish and fresh pasta.
